florencemarryat.org is maintained by me, Catherine Pope. I am a part-time PhD student at the University of Sussex, researching the regulation of female identity in Florence Marryat’s fiction.

My day job is running Victorian Secrets, a independent press dedicated to publishing high quality books from and about the nineteenth century. So far we have published three of Marryat’s novels: The Dead Man’s Message, Her Father’s Name, and The Blood of the Vampire. Love’s Conflict is currently in progress.

I also maintain a more general blog on Victorian literature, in which Marryat makes regular appearances.
